HISTORY
The destruction of the Central Power Batteries by the United Planets Lantern Corps left only the green light of will with a restored battery. The resulting fragmentation of the emotional spectrum gave rise to "Fractal Lanterns" – beings whose intense emotional states could trigger the unknowing and catastrophic release of raw energy.
On Tamaran, in the city of Palamar, a young woman derided as Vexar'u the Zealot was gripped by a potent fear: the dread of the Goddess X'Hal's judgment for her self-perceived lack of faith. This fear, ironically born from her devotion, spiraled out of control, threatening to engulf the planet.
Responding to the planetary threat, Green Lanterns John Stewart, Sinestro and Bynai Bruun arrived on Tamaran. As Stewart, Bynai Bruun and Tamaranean Queen Blackfire battled the physical manifestation of Vexar'u's fear, Sinestro, with his unique mastery over fear through willpower, was able to reach the terrified woman, calming her and helping her dissipate the chaotic energy.
Impressed by the exceptional force of her will, the Green Lanterns inducted Vexar'u into the Corps.[1]
