HISTORY

In the Pre-Crisis Multiverse, the distant planet Subaat was a cruel, warlike world. A small group of refugees tried to escape to Earth but were pursued by executioners. Learning of Superboy from their long range observation, they arrived on Earth seeking his help. The Boy of Steel concocted an elaborate plan to fool the executioners' sensors by changing the refugees into wolves, furthermore claiming Indian magic had made him a "wolf-lad" sworn to protect the wild animals. To finalize the ruse, he then sent the wolves off to another galaxy to protect them from hunters on Earth. Believing they'd lost their quarry, the executioners returned to Subaat. Superboy was then able to explain his plan, and show the wolves had arrived on the distant planet Zygon where their transformations finally wore off, returning them to human.
