HISTORY

When Star City's newspaper, the Daily Star, was threatened with a buyout by media giant Morris Burdick, a "demonic" entity known as the Printer's Devil started haunting the Daily Star building. After an encounter with Green Arrow (Oliver Queen), he was unmasked as Tommy Doyle, a sports journalist who had hoped to stop the buyout with his actions. He actually succeeded, but went to jail for it. Months later, out on bail, Doyle encountered a second Printer's Devil who forced him to provide him with the Devil's costume and weapons, and later embarked on a criminal career on his own.
