OVERVIEW

A mystical orb with ancient origins that turned adventurer Rex Mason into Metamorpho the Element Man.

HISTORY

Forged by the Egyptian priest Ahk-Ton from a radioactive meteorite, the mystical object known as the Orb of Ra somehow became imbued with a small portion of the sun god's power. In ancient Egypt, the orb transformed the priest Ahk-Ton into the shapechanging creature Metamorph. Ahk-Ton abused this power for his own means, and in the process he killed the family of Teth-Adam (later known as Black Adam). The Orb of Ra and Metamorph later fell under the control of the immortal Vandal Savage, but his scheme was thwarted by the timetraveling Justice Society of America and the sun god Ra.

The orb was forgotten until it was discovered in modern times by adventurer Rex Mason, and turned him into Metamorpho the Element Man.
