Synopsis: - The persona of John Jones, private detective, has been split apart from that of the Martian Manhunter, and is going about his job armed with the martian telepathic ability. The Martian Manhunter questions his judgement in this as it violates both human and martian law and ethics, but Jones does not seem to care, using his abilities to provoke dangerous situations which will enhance his prestige.
- The Martian Manhunter visits Jason Blood to ask how the two personas can be rejoined before anything really bad happens: Blood says the best option is to kill Jones as he (or it) has no soul and therefore no true concept of good and evil. However, when Jones is attacked by parademons working on behalf of Kanto the Assassin, J'onn saves his life, though warning him that he will be keeping a close eye on him.
