Synopsis:
The original Doctor Mid-Nite's enemy, the Shadower, is dying, and his grandson has forced the current Doctor Mid-Nite into operating on him. If he fails and the patient dies, then a class full of children in Mid-Nite's base, Portsmouth City, will die. On the scene in Portsmouth are Star-Spangled Kid and Captain Marvel, but when the original Shadower dies, it is the courage of the children which persuades his grandson to hand himself over to the police. Elsewhere, Black Adam is disgusted with the way the media portray this as a victory for Captain Marvel; he and others plan to do something about it.
