OVERVIEW
Huitzilopocthli was the Aztec god of war. In modern times, his powers and were ursurped by the mortal woman Azure.
HISTORY
Huitzilopocthli ("hummingbird from the left") was the Aztec god of war, son of Mixcoatl (the god of war and hunting), and sworn enemy of his brother, the benevolent Quetzalcoatl (the feathered rain serpent). His symbol is the hummingbird, and his helmet is adorned with a plume of feathers from that same bird.
During the so-called War of the Gods, Huitzilopocthli learned that the female super-villain Azure had usurped his title and set out to destroy her. The tables were turned, however, when Azure absorbed Huitzilopocthli’s energies and destroyed him. Whether Huitzilopotchli was truly destroyed remains to be seen, but there were indications that he was still alive at the end of these holy wars.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Among Huitzilopotchli's powers were limited control over lightning, teleportation, levitation and the ability to emit energy blasts from his eyes.
