Synopsis:
Despite Hawkman's absence, Hawkgirl continues to fight crime, much to Detective Grubs' annoyance. Hawkman himself, as Carter Hall, gives Domina Paris a private tour of the Stonechat Museum, a tour which soon takes a romantic turn as they discuss legendary lovers Abelard and Heloise. Meanwhile, another body, a woman killed by the so-called 'angel killer' who paints a red cross on the victims' chest and gives them artificial wings, is discovered, and a man is abducted. The next morning, after a night of passion with Domina, Hawkman is disturbed to hear about these killings, which some think are a tribute to him and Hawkgirl. He catches sight of a monstrous being with a man in its arms and gives chase, catching the man (who is dead) when the being throws it off a building. As he lands, with the dead man in his arms, the police catch sight of him and place him under arrest.
