Synopsis:
One month ago, August Davezak and a group of misguided animal-rights activists blew up a viral research facility, killing one of the scientists. Detective Grubs, newly arrived in St. Roch from Gotham City, blames the Hawks for this incident, and Hawkman himself feels guilty, retreating into himself and withdrawing from all social contact, whether with his students or his friend Ray Palmer. Now, Hawkgirl tries in vain to rouse him from this feeling, and Hawkman himself visits a bar where he meets an intriguing, attractive singer called Domina Paris. Also, Detective Grubs is called to a murder scene, where a man has been pinned to the ceiling and given 'wings' made of bedding material.
