HISTORY

The cousin of the third Wildcat (now deceased), Alexander Montez was invited to be the curator of the museum at the JSA's headquarters. There, his role included acting as the team's media spokesman and overseeing the rest of the HQ's staff. But, unknown to the rest of the JSA, Alexander was pursuing revenge for his cousin's death at the hands of Eclipso. Collaborating with Bruce Gordon, Alex arranged for himself to be injected with the remains of Eclipso’s black diamonds, while also getting mystical tattoos that would bind the dark power.

When Eclipso, Mordru and Obsidian banded together to conquer Earth, Alex managed to trap the essence of Eclipso inside his own body. As Eclipso II, Alex used his powers as a member of Black Adam’s outbreak JSA group that invaded the nation of Kahndaq. Too late, he realized that Eclipso had started to corrupt his mind. When his mystical tattoos were damaged in battle, Eclipso took over Alex completely and had him kill his lover, Nemesis (II). Using his last free will, Alex jumped off a roof, committing suicide rather than letting the villain use him again.
