HISTORY

Eons ago, a plague destroyed the physical bodies of the Dyrlians but their advanced technology enabled them to create artificial bodies. They would not age, but in the process they lost all emotion.

In the 20th Century, an incubation-cube was sent to Earth containing a synthetic being, Rovos. Superman and Supergirl were asked to be caretakers of the newborn who would quickly grow to adulthood in mere hours. It was their task to safeguard as well as teach Rovos emotions. -Action Comics #502
