CHARON (MOON) | ATLAS |
OVERVIEW
Pluto's sole moon, Charon orbits every 6.4 days. It is about half Pluto's size and slightly more than 12,000 miles away, almost making them a "double planet."
Charon is named for the ferryman who brings the souls over the river Styx to the Greek afterlife known as Hades.
