OVERVIEW

Almerac was the homeplanet of Maxima, a sometimes-hero, sometimes-villain, who unsuccesfully sought to win Superman's love. Almerac was ultimately destroyed by Imperiex.

HISTORY

A planet which was largely industrial in nature, ruled by a royal dynasty with mental powers including telepathy and a telekinetic control of metals. The last ruler of Almerac was Maxima.

Throughout history, the ruling family of Almerac has sought to strengthen their genetic stock by mating with the strongest specimen of different races. Maxima sought and failed to gain Superman's hand in marriage.

In recent years, Almerac came under attack several times. First by Brainiac and Warworld, then by Starbreaker, and lastly by Imperiex, who destroyed the planet completely.
