Synopsis: - January, 1792. Fleeing the French Revolution, young nobleman Jean-Pierre Roland leaves Paris to find refuge in the country with his distant relative André Hibbert, and soon seduces his host’s young daughter Isadore. Enraged, André Hibbert betrays Jean-Pierre, who is sent to Le Grande prison. Come April, Isadore comes to Paris seeking to free her lover by any means necessary and finds refuge with the motherly shop-keeper Maude and her friend Miro. Her best hope lies with the alleged witch Catherine La Voisine, but the price for her services turns out to be too costly. For a moment, Isadore contemplates suicide but is stopped by a vision of three witches.
