HISTORY
: The Thermoids were heat beings native to Mercury, sentient balls of agitated molecules. They were first discovered by members of the Legion of Super-Heroes in 2978 after an investigation of missing staff and patients in Mercury's Medivac facility. Using his heat powers, Sun Boy was able to reach the correct wave-length to communicate with the Thermoids, learning that wandering Thermoids accidentally passed through the bodies of staffers and patients, their extreme heat vaporized the bodies.[1]
