TEMPLATE:Between (Link to previous and next issue in a in series) | TEMPLATES |
This template automatically adds a link to the previous and next issue of a title, unless another issue is defined. Only to be used in indexes for linking to the previous and next appearance of a character in same title.
The template should be used as follows:
- {{between}} for links to the to the previous and next issues of a title. The text "in between issue #XX and #XY" will automatically be added, with XX being the previous issue of the series and XY being the next issue of the series.
- {{between|Issue No1 and Issue No2}} with "Issue No1" being the previous issue number and "Issue No2" being the next issue number of the title that you want to link to. The text "in between issue #XX and XY" will automatically be added with XX being the issue number defined by "Issue No1" and XY being the number defined by "Issue No2".
Examples
Basic linkage:
- Inputting: {{between}} in the index for Green Lantern Vol. 4 #10 results in: "in between issue #9 and #11"
Linkage with "Issue No1" and "Issue No2" defined:
- Inputting: {{between|5 and 15}} in the index for Green Lantern Vol. 4 #10 results in: "in between issue #5 and #15"
Please note
- If defining previous and next issues both issues need to be defined. " and 15" and "5 and " will not work. Instead use "9 and 15" if you need to link to the the previous issue and the 5 issues later for instance.
- Linking to a specific page or story within an issue will not work at this time. Use the regular format in these cases.
- The {{between}} template does not know when the 1,000,000 numbers fit into the series so links to those issues will have to be defined.
- The {{between}} template does not work with second, third etc. stories in an issue, so inputting {{between|5/2 and 15}} will not work.
