OVERVIEW

A reported whose career took off when she began covering Superboy's exploits, Tana eventually became romantically involved with the young hero. She was eventually killed by Amanda Spence of the Agenda.

HISTORY

Tana Moon is a Hawaiian native. Not much is known of her life prior to her first meeting with Superboy. She was a young reporter and had applied for a job at the Daily Planet but Perry White thought her to be too young. When leaving the Planet building she was snatched away to a nearby rooftop by Superboy who had seen her leaving the Daily Planet bullpen. He proposed a deal with Tana, telling her that both of them could make it big by offering their services to WGBS, with her doing the reporting of his exploits. Tana was quickly convinced and so was Vinnie Edge, head of WGBS. In order to get as much out of this deal Edge quickly began staging battles for Superboy without his knowing, and due to her newfound success Tana went along with Edge's tricks without letting the kid know. At this point, Tana did not appear to be interested in Superboy since she's an adult and he's just a kid.

Eventually she grew tired that no one seemed to care that she was the reporter covering these grandiose escapades of the Metropolis Kid, and left Superboy and Metropolis to make it on her own. Superboy was really upset by her decision, and he also left, but to get out of Superman's shadow, seeing as by this time, Superman had returned to defend Metropolis.

Tana returned to Hawaii and became a reporter for Kona TV. When Superboy decided to go to Hawaii as part of the North American leg of 'The Superboy World Tour' he ran into Tana and decided to settle down in Hawaii too. Tana soon got over the complex she felt in Metropolis and once again became Superboy's personal reporter.

She also revealed to Superboy that she had strong feelings for him as well, and they soon began a romantic relationship. This created all sorts of problems for the couple. One was that she is chronologically about 7 years older (Superboy's about 16, Tana's about 23), Superboy does get the eye for the other ladies, and also Tana has experienced all sorts of harassment for dating him from her coworkers. One of the worst situations was when Knockout appeared to be interested in Superboy, and he actually left Tana for her! He later realised how wrong Knockout was for him, and he returned to Tana, who took him back in a heartbeat.

After Superboy was chronologically frozen at 16 as a sideeffect of the Agenda's experimentations, Tana felt Superboy began acting more irrational and immature than ever before. She told him she didn't want to be in a relationship with him any longer and left Hawaii to take on a great career opportunity elsewhere. She accepted a job offer at a biosphere in Alaska which turned out to be a hoax as she was greeted by Amanda Spence of the Agenda who then took her captive. She was later found by the Wild Men, who had been sent on a mission to find her by Superboy, as they too were taken captive by the Agenda. The Wild Men eventually escaped the Agenda complex and brought Tana with them back to Cadmus. At that time the Agenda was in the middle of a massive attack on Cadmus. The Agenda lost the battle and although most of them escaped Amanda Spence was captured. Seeing Tana reunited with Superboy, Amanda killed Tana by triggering a device in a necklace the Agenda had given Tana, and then she teleported out of Cadmus.
