HISTORY

Previously from Metropolis, Crispus Allen was one of many new recruits to the Gotham City Police Department, who were added to its ranks when Gotham City was reopened to the world following the 'No Man's Land' period. A detective on the first shift of the Major Crimes Unit, he was partnered with Renée Montoya, a veteran of the Gotham City Police Department. With a deep sense of responsibility and of what is 'right', Crispus found it somewhat difficult to adjust to the way of doing things in Gotham, particularly in the way that the police are always in the shadow of Gotham's more romantic protector, Batman.

As time went on, he began to lose his faith, seeing how often injustice can triumph, but when he feared his family to be lost, he remembered what both they and his faith meant to him. Shortly after this, he began an investigation into corrupt Crime Scene Unit officer Jim Corrigan IV, he was murdered in cold blood when it became apparent that he was getting close to uncovering real evidence against Corrigan.

However, this was not to be the end for Crispus Allen, who would not be allowed to rest in peace. He was selected as the new host for the Spectre Force, a role which came as a great wrench for him. The two of them have thus become a new Spectre, but it remains to be seen how this alliance will work out.
