OVERVIEW

Sir Lancelot du Lac was the most formidable of all the Knights of the Round Table who served King Arthur in the 6th century.

HISTORY

Sir Lancelot du Lac was the most formidable of all the Knights of the Round Table who served King Arthur in the 6th century. He fell in love with the beautiful Queen Guinevere and was ever torn between his love for Guinevere and his loyalty towards Arthur. Eventually, the queen and her knight gave in to their passion, an action which would eventually lead to the downfall of the Knights of the Round Table and Camelot. Bound by law, King Arthur was about to reluctantly execute Guinivere when Lancelot came to her rescue. Records from this time are incomplete, but it seems as if Guinevere was somehow pardoned or redeemed, since she remained at her husband's side right up till the end of Camelot.

Lancelot took part in the quest for the Holy Grail, a task that King Arthur hoped would save Britain and Camelot. Instead, it proved the undoing of Camelot. Weakened by the absence and even deaths of its most skilled defenders, Camelot finally fell before the forces of Morgaine Le Fey. Sir Lancelot and fellow Knight, Sir Gawain, finally found the Holy Grail, but when Lancelot touched it, both he and the cup were engulfed by a bright light and disappeared, presumably taken up to Heaven.

It has been revealed that Sir Lancelot was later reincarnated as the valiant musketeer D'Artagnan, Jim Bowie, the Apache warchief Crazy Horse and Travis Morgan, the Warlord of Skartaris.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Lancelot was an exceptional warrior, skilled with all sorts of weapons.
