HISTORY

Early in Superman's career, his young pal Jimmy Olsen constructed a highly-tuned sonic signal, built-in in his handwatch, to be able to call Superman when needed. Although Superman was initially reluctant, he let Jimmy keep the "play thing", and it has proven invaluable on several occasions.
