HISTORY
The criminal named Shakes was active in the 1940s and into the early 1950s as an enemy of the Vigilante. Thought the origin of his name "Shakes" is unknown, he developed a reputation as "the Underworld Poet" for his manner of speaking in rhymed couplets.
Shakes was best known for operating as a member of Rainbow Man's gang, but had for at least one incident worked with another Rainbow Man gang member, Dictionary in service to the Fiddler (Ben Bowe) and at times Shakes even had his own gang, consisting of Two-Gun Phidias and Muscles Rembrandt.
