HISTORY
Joel Cochin was a mutant who could possess the physical and mental abilities of anyone within a close range - but even more powerful. Taking the super-villain moniker of Paragon, Cochin actually managed to beat the entire Justice League of America one-on-one by effectively using their own powers against them. His goal was to rid the Earth of those he regarded as "inferiors" - that is, 90% of the world's population. The JLA ultimately defeated him by banding together and disorienting him.
