HISTORY

Some time ago, the villain team called the Royal Flush Gang recruited members from street gangs all over the US and extended their organization to include a full deck of 52 "cards". One girl distinguished herself and climbed the ranks to "Ten of Diamonds".

In a battle with Superman in Metropolis, the Ten vowed to wound the Man of Steel in any way possible. Unwisely, she led Superman to the Gang's secret HQ. Superman defeated the entire Gang, who then demoted the Ten to a Nine. But not before she had angrily let Superman know that he cannot rescue every "misguided kid" out there – because some of them don't want to be rescued. Seeing the hero's embittered face, the Nine realized that she had finally managed to wound the Man of Steel.
