HISTORY

A once normal city at the coast of Florida that was renamed New Venice after being flooded by a sea-quake. The townspeople quickly adapted to canals and waterways, using motorboats instead of cars.

Aquaman was called in by the city's Mayor Lyndon to help put a stop to boat speeders and scuba-equipped robbers. As temporary Chief of Police, Aquaman stopped the crime wave together with his "Sea Patrol" – i.e. his finny friends of the sea. Gratefully, the townspeople founded an Aquaman Museum in his honor.

Years later, Aquaman settled down in New Venice with his wife and son, becoming the town's resident hero. However, this attracted the attention of several super-villains, including Dr. Light (II), the Atlantean known as Poseidon (convinced that he was the real sea-god), and Black Manta, who all caused damage. Finally, the Ocean Master virtually destroyed the entire city in a mindless battle with Aquaman. This convinced Aquaman to leave the town.
