HISTORY
Nathaniel Tryon was a security guard of a nuclear power plant who, because of an accident allegedly caused and covered-up by the U.S. government, was caught in the meltdown of a nuclear reactor. Somehow, this transformed Tryon's body into sentient nuclear energy that could only be contained in a special suit. After learning to control his energy, Tryon killed those responsible for his condition and took up a criminal career as Neutron.
For a time, Neutron joined the team called the Fearsome Five, but was imprisoned after a clash with the New Teen Titans. Still later, he joined Warp and Plasmus on a mission from Conduit to assassinate Ma and Pa Kent. Superman intervened and the clash ended with Plasmus and Neutron colliding in a blast that oliberated them both. However, both later returned and Neutron was next seen in Slabside Island prison, from which he was freed during the Joker’s "Last Laugh" riots.
Neutron and several other villains were manipulated by Manchester Black to threaten the friends of Clark Kent. Like several times before, a fight with Superman ended with Neutron disappearing in an atomic blast.
More recently, Neutron was seen in the ruins of the city of Blüdhaven working for the Society as part of the Nuclear Legion.
