HISTORY
A fabled land in the Himalayas, similar to Shangri-La, Nanda Parbat is the earthly home of the goddess Rama Kushna, who resides in a mystic cave from which she protects the land and gives it supernatural qualities. Time in Nanda Parbat doesn't flow as in the rest of the world and the citizens do not age normally. Furthermore, undead spirits such as Deadman take corporeal form here. In Nanda Parbat live numerous men and women who were known for their evil deeds in the outside world, but found peace and love in the land where no sin was too great nor no man too wretched to be redeemed. (Although several of the citizens have returned to their vile ways upon leaving Nanda Parbat.) The idyll of the land has been disturbed repeatedly by threats such as the Sensei and the League of Assassins. A man named Jonah, the founder of Nanda Parbat and former follower of Rama Kushna, even succeeded in devastating the land and killing Rama. However, both the goddess and the land have since returned to life.
Known inhabitants of Nanda Parbat include the land's guardian Taj Ze, Deadman's former circus comrades Max Loomis and Vashnu, Agent Salt of the Peacemaker Organization, and the criminal exiles Lotus and Onyx (II). The American World War II veteran Rip Jagger, a.k.a. Judomaster (I), also lived here until recently.
