HISTORY
The Misery Mound, an elemental force, was first encountered in Sector 3172 on an unnamed planet. Blue Lantern Saint Walker bravely held it at bay, preventing the world's complete annihilation, but struggled to defeat it as it tried to extinguish his hope.[1]
The arrival of Walker's allies, Green Lantern Hal Jordan and White Lantern Kyle Rayner, presented the Misery Mound with an opportunity to crush the Blue Lantern by targeting his friends. However, this proved to be more than the entity could handle. The Misery Mound was ultimately dispelled from the planet it sought to destroy, allowing life to begin its resurgence.[2]
POWERS AND WEAPONS
The Misery Mound can travel across the stars with ease. It has the ability to show its victims their hopes and wishes, then tear away the same to shatter their will and hope. The Misery Mound's presence destabilize a world, creating volcanic eruptions.
