Synopsis: - On Apokolips, dog soldier Kaninsky fails in his task to bring the rebel D-Vo (who is giving the citizens of Armaghetto a glimmer of hope) to justice. Technically trapped on top of a Darkseid temple, the rebel takes a leap into the great unknown, just as Kaninsky sets off a huge explosion. Darkseid and Desaad reanimate the soldier's head so that the ruler of Apokolips may see Kaninsky's memories of the event. He is with Kaninsky in various character-forming experiences at Granny Goodness' Orphanage and witnesses his pursuit of the miscreant, who has some effect on the soldier. Kaninsky also thinks he catches a glimpse of the Black Racer, herald of death, reflected in the boy's eyes.
