HISTORY

Created by the scientist Ser-Ze in Kryptonopolis in the Kryptonian year 9997, the Commensals were a new strain of micro-organism to aid in the creation of artificial limbs for amputees. The commensals secreted an acid-like substance which made metal pliable like human flesh. The organisms possessed a supposedly primitive collective intelligence enabling them to work as one while receiving nerve impulses from the host.

Ser-Ze did not realize the commensals were more intelligent than he expected. As they were growing the wanted more room, absorbing the host bodies. Finally, the commensals wanted a world of their own.
