OVERVIEW

Kim Liang is a portion of Madame Xanadu's soul made solid by Madame Xanadu using the Spectre's powers.

HISTORY

Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths the Spectre started having self-doubts and sought out Madame Xanadu to help him. To do so she asked for a portion of his power, which she used to create a seperate Jim Corrigan from Spectre's protoplasm, and made him seem alive and like the real thing even to himself and the Spectre. To assist the Spectre's new vessel she created sendings, portions of her own soul made palpable. Although she was not aware of it herself Kim Liang was such a sending, created to function as Corrigan's assistant and lover to keep Xanadu's spell working.

In order to make the illusion convincing Xanadu had Liang take up a job at the Gibraltar Insurance Company which she quit only to find herself drawn to Madame Xanadu's home where she was given a new job. After assisting in and watching both Corrigan and Spectre come alive, Corrigan set himself up as a private investigator and she stayed as his assistant. The two grew close and eventually became lovers.

When exactly Liang disappeared from the Spectre's life is not know.
