In a universe where super heroes are strange and new, Batman has discovered a dark evil that requires him to unite the World's Greatest Heroes!

Synopsis:

Five years ago Batman finds himself chased by the Gotham City Police Department as he himself is chasing a large creature across the city rooftops. He manages to catch the creature but is blasted away as he burst in flames. As the battle between the two begins again they are interrupted by Green Lantern who had come to Gotham to locate locate the creature, who according to Green Lantern is an unauthorized extraterrestrial presence in the city. The creature manages to escape and head for the sewers where it fuses a device into the walls. When Green Lantern tries to approach the creature it combusts into fire killing itself while screaming: "For Darkseid". Batman determines that the device is some kind of alien computer and Green Lantern wonders if it might be connected to the alien Superman of Metropolis, and using his ring he creates a plane to bring them there.

In the city of Ford, athlete Victor Stone wins another football game for the home team, and the scouts are all over his coach with big offers. The coach won't let Victor talk to the scouts without Victor's father present, but he has once again stood up his son in favor of his studies.

In Metropolis Green Lantern enters a building where Superman is supposed to be according to his ring. Before locating him, Green Lantern is knocked out by a red and blue blur and Batman is confronted by Superman.
