Jor-El first appeared in (mention) Action Comics Vol. 2 #2 (December 2011); (actual appearance) Action Comics Vol. 2 #3 (January 2012). First historical appearance was in (unnamed, behind the scenes) Action Comics Vol. 1 #1 (June 1938); (actual appearance, in comic books) More Fun Comics #101 (January-February 1945).
