HISTORY

Jocasta, a sadistic assassin and spy, was imprisoned in the Sciencells on Oa shortly after the Crisis on Infinite Earths. With the Guardians of the Universe having relocated to another reality and the Central Power Battery destroyed, effectively disbanding the Green Lantern Corps, the lone Appa Ali Apsa became the planet's caretaker and overseer of the Sciencell prisoners. Isolation drove him mad, leading him to force mind merges or spitefully kill prisoners. In exchange for their freedom, the Earth villain Goldface and fellow prisoners offered to recruit others from their homeworlds to keep the deranged Guardian company. Jocasta, Repo, and Piston allied with Goldface, joining him on Earth as part of his plan to establish an interstellar criminal network.

The demands of another of their group, Evil Star, inadvertently drew the attention of Green Lantern Hal Jordan, nearly leading to their recapture. Not long after, they battled then yellow ring-wielding Guy Gardner as they tried in vain to take his ring for themselves.

Jocasta's exploits were not known for quite some time afterwards. Over the years she had separated from Goldface, Repo and Piston. At some point she was incarcerated in the Sciencells on Mogo, and part of a mass escape orchestrated by the Durlans in their scheme to destroy the Green Lantern Corps.
