Synopsis:

After arriving in the Batcave to find himself confronted by his alter ego Bruce Wayne, along with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the alter egos of his remaining JLA colleagues. He calls an emergency meeting on the JLA watchtower which is attended by the rest of the JLA, who are also concerned to be confronted by their secret identities. Both parties are able to establish that their 'other halves' believe that they are the general article, though the 'secret identities' are without their powers or equipment. And as time goes on, they begin to change further: Clark Kent's DNA changes from Kryptonian to human and the personalities of the powered Justice Leaguers begin to change, becoming somehow less human as they watch the world for occurrences of a strange phenomenon whereby peoples' wishes come true.
A particularly alarming case of wish-fulfillment occurs in Washington where a homeless man, Joseph Stinton, wishes to be noticed. He gets his wish as the capital is molded into his likeness while he gains in stature and power. He is defeated by Martian Manhunter, Flash and Superman in a spot of impromptu brain surgery, an occurrence which Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the only Leaguers not affected by the split, find very disturbing. Strange things also begin to happen in the lives of the secret identities...Wally West is late for a dinner appointment, John Jones raves that he is blind, and Bruce Wayne actually spends a whole evening with his date.
