Synopsis: - The Justice League and Justice Society battle Lkz in the streets of Central City, joined by former Wonder Woman Hippolyta. Here, Plastic Man is turned to stone and Green Lantern is sucked into the 5th dimension. The other heroes have their work cut out protecting J.J., the boy in possession of Johnny Thunder's thunderbolt, Yz.
- Meanwhile: Triumph takes mental possession of former colleagues Gypsy and the Ray, with intent to take over the JL Watchtower; Sentinel and Zauriel discover that the Spectre force is imprisoned in a living world, and that to free him would mean killing the inhabitants; Captain Marvel arrives on the moon.
- Captain Marvel punches out Superman and enters the 5th dimension alone, leaving the Watchtower protected only by Hourman, who is taken out by Triumph, who is immune to Hourman's time powers. Back on Earth, J.J. releases Yz, starting a battle of the thunderbolts which could well spell armageddon.
