OVERVIEW
Ixion the Assassin was a notorious mass murderer from ancient Greece who was freed from his eternal punishment in modern times and used as a weapon against Wonder Woman and her ally Hermes. He intentionally caused his own death.
HISTORY
Ixion is said to have been the first and the worst mass murderer in history. He started off as a mortal king in Thessaly, ancient Greece, and is attributed with being the first Greek to ever shed kindred blood, as well as fathering the centaur race (half men, half horse). As punishment for Ixion's crimes, Hermes chained him to a big wheel in the underworld Tartarus, where he was tortured for eons until only his most monstrous traits remained. In modern times, Ixion was set free by Phobos and Euryale the Gorgon as a part of their scheme to kill Hermes and Wonder Woman. Seeking release from his eternal suffering, Ixion attacked the U.S. Air Force, knowing full well that they would destroy him.
