HISTORY
After the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the departure of the Guardians of the Universe from our plane of existence, each Green Lantern was free to patrol the universe as they saw fit. - Green Lantern Vol. 2 #200
Some of the Green Lanterns returned to their home sectors, others joined together in small groups. One of these groups was the Green Lantern Corps of the Klyminade. - Green Lantern Vol. 2 #200, Green Lantern Corps #217
Millennia before that day, the Green Lantern Corps and the Guardians fought the sentient Sector 3600. Thirteen Green Lanterns were killed, and it took the efforts of thirty-six Guardians to imprison the Sector.
Years later in an Oan Sciencell, Sinestro convinced the sentient Sector 3600 that it could surmount the Guardians' barriers and free itself. - Green Lantern Corps Annual #2, Green Lantern Corps #217
After escaping from their imprisonment, Sinestro and Sector 3600 swept across other space sectors. The sentient sector would seep into a galaxy and take control of the natural forces there, giving Sinestro ultimate power.
One of the many galaxies Sinestro and 3600 attacked was the home of the Green Lantern Corps of the Klyminade. The Klyminade based Corps had consisted of eight Green Lanterns. Only three remained.
The three survivors, Flodo Span of Inner Tasnia, Olapet of Southern Goldstar, and Driq of Criq, who was killed, but his ring refused to let his life go out. The three swore vengeance against Sinestro, and set off towards Earth, to warn Hal Jordan of the renegade Green Lantern's escape.
In route to Earth, the trio met members of the Green Lantern Corps of Earth. Arisia, John Stewart, Katma Tui-Stewart, and Kilowog had been searching for other Green Lanterns to join their Earth based Corps. - Green Lantern Corps #217
Charging their rings, the combined forces of both Corps attacked Sinestro on the moon of Eidakon. They had apparently defeated their enemy when they were swept away by the power of Sector 3600. Plunged through a black hole, they were transported to the remains of Space Sector 872. - Green Lantern Corps #217- #218
They were attacked out of nowhere, and returning fire, discovered a Class-IV planet. Lured down to the surface they confronted the galactic killers who had decimated both their galaxy and the Green Lantern Corps of Sector 872. The galactic criminals were defeated by John Stewart, and the remaining world was to be terraformed.
The world would be a new home for the survivors of Bolovax Vik, the homeworld of Kilowog, which had been destroyed in the Crisis. When Bolovax Vik was destroyed by anti-matter, Kilowog had been saved by his power ring. Due to his mind link with his comrades, the ring collected the life energies of Bolovax Vik's sixteen billion inhabitants. Now, they would live again. Shortly after completing the terraforming, Kilowog released their energies on the world.
In the blink of an eye, the planet was obliterated by Sinestro. - Green Lantern Corps #218
The destruction of his people sent Kilowog into an uncontrollable rage. He lashed out, inadvertently striking the other Green Lanterns. As they were still under attack by Sinestro, this caused John Stewart to drop his shield, leading to the death of Olapet's daughter.
A vegetable based life form, Olapet carried the seed of her daughter in a pouch at her side. As part of her life cycle, her offspring, the seed, was always growing. When Olapet withered away, a new sprout would take her ring as a Green Lantern.
Unfortunately, when the new Olapet emerged from the sack, she was struck by a piece of space debris. Stewart placed another seed into the sack, which he would guard until it sprouted again. Kilowog was calmed by a mind probe by Arisia.
Still under attack by Sinestro, Flodo Span created a plan to defeat the Sector. With his willpower and the ring's green power he would expand his consciousness to envelope the sentient sector. Just as Sector 3600 had, Flodo Span became so ephemeral he went mad.
When Driq was blasted across space, his ring would not let his life force go. The power ring pulled the forms of Driq and Flodo back together. Flodo Span would apparently calm Sector 3600, contracting it to the size of a baseball. Without his omnipotent ally, the Green Lanterns easily defeated Sinestro.
The three declined Katma Tui-Stewart's invitation to join the Earth based Corps. Olapet would survive, though she would no longer have a continuous presence. Each time she would wilt, there would be a short hiatus as the new seed grew. -Green Lantern Corps #219
Driq would later join Hal Jordan, Arisia, Katma Tui-Stewart, G'Nort and others of Earth's super-hero community on Orinda to battle the android Manhunters. - Justice League International Vol. 1 #10, Firestorm, the Nuclear Man #68-69, Millennium #5
A short time after the Millennium event, the Green Lantern Corps gathered on Oa to bring Sinestro to justice. Tried and convicted,Sinestro was executed; however, his essence had managed to escape into the Main Power Battery. This would result in the re-absorption of virtually all of the power rings on Oa. Dependent on his power ring to keep his body together, Driq crumbled to dust. - Green Lantern Corps #222- #223
In an effort to prevent this, Hal Jordan and Flodo Span entered the battery. They sought to cross the dimensional barriers to gain the assistance of the Guardians of the Universe. In this limbo, Flodo Span's ring was absorbed by the battery. Unable to create a body for himself, Flodo Span dissipated in the void.
Jordan would learn from a Guardian that the destruction of the power battery would lead to Oa becoming a universe devouring black hole. He was able to prevent this by defeating the spirit of Sinestro, which had jumped from Sinestro's body at the moment of death to inhabit the Power Battery.
The now powerless Green Lantern Corps disbanded, its' members returning to their homeworlds. The fate of Olapet remains uncertain. - Green Lantern Corps #224
