HISTORY

Billions of years ago, before even the founding of the Guardians of the Universe the worlds Ort and Tro were locked in centuries-old war. Ort's surface was ravaged by radioactive weapons and its remaining populace was forced to live underground. The people of Ort grew to hate life and only existed to create weapons to strike at their enemies.

Gracchus, a scientist, devised a plan to end the war with Tro but was denounced by the High Council. In desperation, he stole a star cruiser and fled the planet with his daughter Teira. They travelled the stars until they found Earth, a planet similar to Ort.

After using a time viewer to see into the future, Gracchus was disgusted by humanity's future wars and conflicts. He decided to reach into the future a take Green Lantern Hal Jordan to help him destory the early stages of life on Earth so humanity would not come to pass and avoid the horrors of life.

Recognizing Gracchus had become mentally unhinged, Green Lantern tried to thwart his plans. In the battle, Gracchus was mortally injured when his cruised exploded. His duaghter survived, and pledged to return to Ort to pick up the noble aspects of her father's life. Green Lantern returned to the present day. - Green Lantern Vol. 2 #63

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Gracchus possessed advanced weaponry and had telepathic powers. It is not known if the powers were natural or technological.
