HISTORY

During the harrowing events of the Blackest Night, Green Lantern Glibberquip of Sector 743 stood in defense of Oa. Alongside the rest of the Corps, he fought valiantly, including his rookie partner, Hraalkar. Hraalkar was gravely injured in the conflict and was sent to the Oan infirmary to recover. However, mere days later, he mysteriously vanished.

Haunted by his partner's disappearance, Glibberquip embarked on a desperate search. He scoured Hraalkar's homeworld and then other planets within Sector 743, hoping to find any trace of the missing Lantern. Despite Glibberquip's growing unease, his concerns were dismissed by Salaak who cited the absence of any distress signals or unusual activity reported by Hraalkar's power ring as evidence that the rookie was not in danger or distress.

Glibberquip's relentless pursuit of the truth led him to a horrifying discovery. He found Hraalkar, but the rookie was no longer the Lantern he once knew. Hraalkar had been transformed, altered into one of the Alpha-Lanterns. The chilling realization washed over Glibberquip that he was destined to be next.[1]

Dozens of other Lanterns had secretly been abducted and transformed against their will. Now as Alpha-Lanterns, their loyalties had been transferred to the Cyborg Superman.[2]

The Alpha-Lanterns were assembled on Grenda, adding to their numbers as Green Lanterns were lured in and captured. The Cyborg-Superman's end game was to force Ganthet to somehow reverse the process that turned Hank Henshaw into an undying cybernetic creature. When Ganthet expressed doubt the process could ever be reversed, the Cyborg-Superman chose Glibberquip at random to help force the issue, threatening Glibberquip should Ganthet not comply. Though the Guardian agreed, Henshaw wanted to reinforce his control over the situation and had Glibberquip take his own life.[3]

POWERS AND WEAPONS
