GLCWP: GREEN LANTERN NEWS

10/2/10: Movie, toys and comics

It's been a long time since the GLCWP featured any movie news, and there's certainly enough pages out there reporting about the upcoming movie. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it. The movie trailer will premiere with the release of the next Harry Potter film "Deathly Hallows, Part One" on November 19, 2010, but for now the movie website is up: http://greenlanternmovie.warnerbros.com/ Really no content to speak of, but it's good to see the start of something out there. Side note: There's a DCU Animated movie: Green Lantern: Emerald Knights in the works and the animated series.

Of course I collect the action figures and with the movie coming up, you knew there'd be the opportunity to get characters you never thought they'd make: Mattel Green Lantern Wave 2. The movie preview figure is not named, but I believe it's G'hu.

Newsarama's Jill Pantozzi reports from the Geoff Johns Spotlight panel at the NYC Con Friday: A big Green Lantern crossover next spring where John Stewart will be featured...Green Lantern Vol.4 #59 & 60 will feature the Indigo Tribe and we'll learn about their rings....More about the Star Sapphires and their relationship to Hawkman and Hawkgirl in Brightest Day #13...More Dex-Starr...Larfleeze will get an oath and there will be Green Lantern/Flash crossovers...Also... hints of a new Lantern series (possibly the Red Lantern Corps? since they will be the villains in the animated series?)
