OVERVIEW

The Furies of ancient Greek myth granted Helena Kosmatos a portion of their power in order that she could revenge herself on the Nazis who had killed many of those she loved in her Greek village. Escaping to the United States, she used her powers (including great strength and agility) as a member of the Young All-Stars. However, the Furies had not told her of the price of her power – when she became angered, she would be taken over by one of them.

Recently, after having lost her daughter Lyta Hall to the fates, Helena became delusional, believing herself to be the daughter of the Amazon Queen Hippolyta. She is being cared for on Paradise Island, but things aren't exactly going well for her there either...

Helena is able to will herself to take on the physical form of Fury, a super-strong young woman who is invulnerable to harm except on the shoulder where Tisiphone scratched her with her talons.
