HISTORY

Enki is one of the oldest of the beings once worshipped as the Mesopotamian Gods, in reality renegade Oans who had settled on Earth and enslaved mankind. Once known as the god of water, Enki is known to have been a contemporary of Enlil, god of air. When Enlil was killed and succeeded by his son Nergal, Enki opposed his rule and was subsequently overthrown by his own son Enkimdu (aided by Nergal). At some point, Enki was banished to Kurnugi along with the rest of his fellow gods. Imprisoned in his own underwater city Eridu for many years, Enki was recently freed by Aquaman of Earth.
