OVERVIEW

After the Superman of Earth -1 went completely rogue, Batman knew the only way to stop him was to kill him using the Doomsday Virus on himself. He killed Superman and was recruited by the Batman Who Laughs to serve Barbatos.

HISTORY

On Earth -1, Superman went on a rampage, killing civilians and destroying buildings. The Justice League believed he was under some sort of control, but they never had the chance to figure out why he seemingly went insane. After Superman killed Lois Lane, Batman prepared for a final assault on Superman. He tested the Doomsday Virus on him, hoping he wouldn't have to use it. Superman used his heat vision and cut of Batman's arm, leaving him with no choice but to use the Doomsday Virus. Instantly, his arm regrew into a giant bony fist and he killed Superman. The Batman Who Laughs tells him there is another world where the people look up to Superman, and that he has to stop him. Bruce agrees to join him and serve under Barbatos to give people the power to stand up against the Man of Steel.
