- Bruce Wayne: Fugitive continued from Batman #601 and continues in Batgirl #27.
Synopsis: - Ekin Tzu is disgusted that Batman will not aid him in destroying the entire Lucky Hand Triad and flees the scene. Batman has a three-way confrontation with the Triad and Said, and learns little more than that no-one seems to know where the poisoned drugs are coming from. Detectives Allen and Montoya question Alfred about Bruce Wayne - he maintains that the Wayne he knew would never have killed Vesper Fairchild. Said and Batman later interrupt Tzu attacking some of the Triad - Batman demands to know who Said is and he replies simply 'Checkmate', holding a gun to the vigilante's head.
