HISTORY
Chac was the powerful, cruel priest-king of Tikal, one of the largest city-states of the ancient Mayan Empire (probably around the 3rd Century BC) when an alien craft (probably an escape pod) crashed near the city. Chac entered and found an alien dying. Seeking to recuperate, the alien asked for an elixir which would heal him, but Chac drank it instead, becoming immortal. Taking tools and weapons from the dead alien, Chac expanded his rule, cruelly governing his people until they gave him a mixture of herbs that caused him to forget about his weapons and wandered away into the jungle.
Over hundreds of years, Chac watched the civilization fall and roamed the jungles near the forgotten city until the mid-20th Century AD when archaeologist from the Midway City Museum, began a dig near where his weapons were buried. Aiding the scientists as a day laborer, his memories slowly returned. Creating more of the forgetful elixir and giving it to them as they left, Chac then recovered his weapons and donned his ceremonial garb, ready to begin conquering the world. He was stopped when Hawkman and Hawkgirl tracked him down at the ruins. Defeating him, he was later seen battling the Joker for a Mayan treasure.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Chac is virtually immortal and uses weapons from the deceased alien. Among them are a divining rod that creates large amounts of water in the form of flying spheres, a "Thunder Box" when whirled around on a string creates a sonic wall and sonic waves, a feathered rod which can be used to project powerful kinetic energies, a small staff which can project lightning, a jade mask that project powerful winds from the mouth and a stucco sculpted head that was never used.
