OVERVIEW
A freedom fighter during the Revolutionary War, and one of Tomahawk's Rangers.
HISTORY
A large brawny blacksmith from Maine, 'Big Anvil' was noted for his nearly superhuman strength and his kind and gentle ways (unless you were a British soldier, a Hessian mercenary or an Indian on the warpath...), was one of the first recruits for Tomahawk's Rangers, a Detached Service Unit during the Revolutionary War.
Big Anvil's lack of schooling was more than compensated for his battle prowess and his caring for his comrade's safety. He often kidded new recruits, testing their mettle against his great strength. He was often teamed with Brass Buttons, who made up for his diminutive size with his wits and courage.
During the last days of the War, Big Anvil was severely injured when a cannonball struck his head. His mental capacity was no more than that of a child, and he stayed with various members of the Rangers, and eventually accompanied Stovepipe on his medicine shows. He met up with his former commander Tomahawk in his later years.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Although Big Anvil was probably not a meta-human as such, his strength was unparalleled for his time. He was also a skilled soldier.
