Synopsis: - Batman sets out to find out what possible connection there could have been between his father and the Gotham mob. Unable to find any paper records of this, he breaks into the house of the one man who may now: mobster Angelo Berretti. He tells Batman that the connection goes back to the mayor's Halloween ball over 20 years ago, when Lew Moxon was informed that his nephew, Bruno, had been shot while carrying out a 'job'. Their usual doctors were unavailable, so they persuaded Thomas Wayne to treat the man; having done so, Wayne refused to take Moxon's money, and reported the incident to the police. Bruno was arrested and died in jail. Batman asks if Thomas and Martha Wayne's death had been arranged by Moxon in revenge for this incident, but apparently not.
