HISTORY
Around 143,000 B.C. the Atlantean sorcerers known as Calculha and Dark Majistra had two sons, Ahri'ahn and Garn Daanuth. Calculha, a follower of the Light, raised Ahri'ahn, while Majistra raiseds Garn and taught him dark sorcery. In a ploy to gain vast mystical powers Majistra and her son Garn used their magical abilities to gather the Twelve Crystals of the Zodiax, an act that triggered a cataclysm that threatening to destroy Atlantis. Their ploy was ultimately thwarted by Calculha and Ahri'ahn, as Ahri'ahn sacrificed himself to disrupt Majistra's control of the crystals, thereby averting the cataclysm. As a result of his sacrifice Ahri'ahn was turned into pure energy. Calculha then formed Ahri'ahn's life energy into a sphere that he sent into outer space.
In 50,000 B.C. – 100,000 years after the disappearance of Ahri'ahn, Garn Daanuth returned and again became a threat to the existence of Atlantis. Calculha brought back Ahri'ahn to Earth where he was reincarnated in human form and became known as Arion, Lord High Mage of Atlantis.
51,000 years ago, Arion was one of the first of Atlantis' sorcerers to use his powers for peace rather than for war, but he also played a part in the sinking of the Atlantean continent. For centuries, Arion was the undisputed Lord of Atlantis and protected it from evils such as Garn Daanuth and the Lords of Chaos. His betrothed was the beautiful Lady Chian. An immortal, Arion survived to the present day, ever more irritable and removed from reality. Nevertheless, his heroic side showed many times, as he assisted superheroes such as Aquaman and the Justice League on several occasions.
For years, it was believed that Arion was the grandfather of Power Girl, but a recent confession has stated that it was a lie. The reasons and circumstances behind this have not yet been revealed.
Most recently, Arion's body was possessed by the evil sorcerer Mordru. To defeat the villain, Arion finally gave up his immortality and went on to the afterlife. His last words were his confession to Power Girl.
