Synopsis: - Wednesday in Star City and the decadent rich are enjoying the fine, and the illegal, things in life: drink, drugs and sex. Young, scared Mia Dearden arrives 'for' Councilman Dreyfus who is not after a simple sexual encounter - he wants to photograph every moment of it. But the party is crashed by a vigilante who looks and acts exactly like the long-absent crusader Green Arrow. He is using some more sophisticated arrows now in his pursuit of the corrupt councilman, who he suspects of being serial killer The Star Slayer. He denies this, and Green Arrow believes him, but makes sure he leaves plenty of evidence for the police of Dreyfus' illegal activities.
- Later, Mia Dearden is visited by her 'boyfriend' and pimp Richard. He tries to soothe her after her encounter with Dreyfus, and then tries to kill her to ensure she can't lead Green Arrow back to him. However, she is tired of being used and fights back, severing a tendon in his hand and leaving him.
- Green Arrow arrives at the brownstone mansion owned by Stanley Dover, who is now financing him since their encounter in the alley. Dover chides Ollie for using so many expensive arrows and helps him with the quest to find out who the Star Slayer actually is. They also see a news report on Green Arrow's return, which surprises Arrow as he thinks he's not been away. He knows he has mild amnesia, but surely this only covers a day or two? Batman also sees the news report and wonders whether it really is Oliver back from the dead.
- And elsewhere, a child is slain and his blood drunk by the Slayer and his monstrous pet...
